This doesn’t mean that it can’t be done
But think of all the harm it may have caused if Annes diary had seen the sun
too soon.

We wait
Pondering on the perfect moment to speak our truths
Lest we be destroyed by perceptions
Before we can even get it right
Sometimes speaking is dangerous
Because you can’t help but speak truth
Without souls like
Anne, Maya, and Garvey
, we wouldn’t know…we’d only wonder
And we’d be lost in a loop.
So
Let your writing free you
And you can speak your truth
Free us from the attics
